Looking Through the Window
I really enjoy visits to Big Bend National Park. When the weather is warm the Chisos Mountains are the place to set up camp. Just to the west of the campsites is a great view of The Window. The sun setting through The Window is uniquely Big Bend. This image was captured with a 4x5 , large format camera. Wow, do you mean film? Yes, I do; I know because I was lugging the equipment down the trail to this vantage point. Thunder heads were rolling in which gave great dimension to the sky. My wife was holding a large golf umbrella over me and the camera. The rain poured down after I clicked. A small amount of post processing in Photoshop resulted in this image. Enjoy!
