Not the Best for a Quiet Nightcap
Long before I ever sang at a karaoke bar, I joined in on a few songs at Pat O'Brien's. This old NOLA standard has been around since its speakeasy days of the 1930's. Originally called "Mr. O'Brien's Club Tipperary," it moved across the street and then down the street to its current location on St Peter Street once Prohibition ended. It is famous for its dueling pianos and speciality drinks like the Hurricane, the Cyclone and, my favorite, the Squall. It is a tourist spot, but you can find many locals joining in the fun, too. Their motto is "Have Fun!" If you visit, I expect that you will.
