Our ship is the National Geographic Sea Bird. It has a passenger capacity of 62, and as of a few days ago, it was not sold out. We are in cabin #100. It is behind the bridge and adjacent to the captain's cabin. We are scheduled to have a support staff (called Expedition leaders) of 5 naturalists. Depending on weather conditions, we will be getting close to wildlife and the natural landscape using sea kayaks and zodiacs. We will be joined by another couple who have often shared our vacations.
I plan to blog the vacation with photos, words, and maybe some videos. The ship has a satellite connection to the Internet (about $0.50/minute) so connecting should not be a problem. The blogging has now officially started.
The image above is not our ship. It is a photo from Bergen, Norway from last year's blog vacation.
Oh wow...sounds like quite a trip! Have a wonderful time! David would be jealous - I only let him take me to warm places :-). We just did the Caribbean and Bahamas.
