The Arc de Triomphe stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, also known as the Place de l'Étoile. It is at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. The arch honors those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars. This photo is an HDR taken at night with lots of traffic; it conveys the actual felling of the activity near midnight in early January, 2007.
