Mineral de Pozos is a ghost town in north central Mexico that is enjoying a new life as an artist colony. Perhaps, a little more than an artist colony as there are 3 hotels and about 10 galleries. In its past life, Pozos was a center for silver mining. There are some remnants of the glory days of mining just outside of the small village center. Above is what is left of a silver smelter. Check it out the next time you find yourself near San Miguel de Allende or Queretaro.
