Day #2: Auckland to Paihia

We picked up our rental car at Euro Car a half a dozen blocks from our hotel. Yes, we schlepped our bags all the way to the rental agency, mostly uphill. We had to wait 20 or 30 minutes for our car to arrive on the street in front of the rental office.
The car arrived; it was an MG. In high school, I always thought it would be so cool to drive an MG, but this wasn't a roadster. However, it is a very drivable rental car. We headed north on a route that we hoped would avoid tolls. No tolls was accomplished.

We stopped at Waipu Cove in order for Randeen to get a swim. It was a great beach.

A stoped we had to make was at the World famous, Hundertwasser Toilets (a public toilet) located in the town of Kawakawa. The toilets were out there. The library designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser was pretty cool as well.

Then is was on to Paihia and The Bay of Islands.
