Day #17 Milford Sound Cruise

We exited our motel room at 9AM. We were told that it would be a 3 hour drive to the Milford Sound and that we had better have a full tank of fuel. We did just that.

There were several places to stop along the way for some photo ops, Mirror Lakes (if it is not windy), The Chasm, and Fall Creek Falls.

Milford Sound is in an area of New Zealand called Fiordland. There are quite a few glacier formed fiords that are quite popular, Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound. Both offer cruises of various lengths; ours was a two hour cruise.

After the cruise we walked to where we had parked the car. It was a free parking spot about a 25 minute walk from the cruise departure point. By the time we reached our car, most of the traffic was well ahead of us. The ride back to the motel took about an hour and forty-five minutes. Easy-peasy.

Tomorrow, we're off to Queenstown and the 40th birthday party for our friend Toby. More about that later.
