Golf in Iceland

Iceland has more than 50 golf courses. Some are 9 hole courses, but they have lots of 18 hole courses. Randeen and I considered playing just to say we had. Time was not on our side.

The courses generally lack trees. This is not a surprise as Iceland is generally lacking in trees, lots of lava fields and waterfalls, but not trees.

One thing that is surprising is how they manage to keep the fairways, rough, and even the greens trimmed to the proper length. The lawn trimmers above moved off the green as I approached with my camera. I guess they thought I was going to play through. By the way, sheep outnumber the people in this island country
