The Great ocean Road is a famous drive from around Torquqy to the area around Port Fairy on Australia's south coast. Let's call it from near Melbourne to about halfway to Adelaide. I expect lots of input on that statement.
First thing this AM, Randeen went for a swim in a highly recommended 50 meter pool in Fitzroy. It is just a short tram ride out of central Melbourne.
Then later this morning, I picked up a rental car in Melbourne and we departed
for Torquay to start our drive along The Great Ocean Road. As you may be aware, when one has a rental car in a new piece of geography, there is the need to get lost at least one time per day. We accomplished that in Torquay while getting into a traffic jam near the surfing beach. Maybe we could have tried surfing. Instead, we found our way back to the road.

We missed a few must see opportunities (as described in our tour book) because we could not find them. We did stop at a few vista points and at the Split Point Lighthouse. The vistas here were quite nice. Randeen climbed to the top; I did not and saved AU$10.

We ended our day's drive in Apollo Bay. We picked up our breakfast supplies and made a booking at Casalingo (not connected in any way to Duolingo). We enjoyed a fine meal.
