Day #15 Stewart Island
It was raining when we awoke; we had to return the E-bikes. Fortunately, the rain stopped and we rode the bike back to Pete's place.

We did a little exploring including a couple of hikes to Observation Rock and up to see the only church on the island, the Presbyterian church on the hill. A Norwegian flag hangs in the church as they helped with church furniture. The Norwegians were at a shipbuilding company that was on the island for a number of years.

We spent the afternoon on Ulva Island, a small island off the Stewart Island coast. It has been returned to its original state eliminating non-indigenous animals and reintroducing original animal and plant life. A very good guided tour.

Tonight, we fired up the outdoor, gas grill at our cabin. A nice change from restaurant food.
Tomorrow we return to the South Island for about another week of exploration.
