Day #24 Sydney

First, let me say that no matter how hard we tried, we do not have Taylor Swift concert tickets for tonight or tomorrow. A woman at the info desk at the ferry dock asked Randeen, "How can I help you?". Randeen replied, "Is this where I can get Taylor Swift tickets?". After a bunch of laughter later, she said no. There are tons of Swifties everywhere. Everywhere!
Okay, enough of the tomfoolery. We headed to the Circular Quay for a walking tour described in our tour book. We mostly followed it when we were not lost.

We did take a detour to walk across the Sydney Harbor Bridge. Many people climb the bridge at a price of $350/person. Instead we walked across the bridge for free climbing the southeast pylon for $18 (senior price) per person. We took our own photos and took time to look at the bridge building museum. I'm happy for those who climbed the bridge's high arch, but I'm happier climbing the southeast pylon. Maybe a nice dinner with our savings.

We went to the north side of the bridge in search of the pool used in the 2000 Summer Olympics. It is under a massive renovation. No swimming. Back across the bridge to the Lord Nelson Pub and Brewery. Nice Lunch and a pint of their best bitters.

We made our way to the Andrew (Boy) Charlton pool. Built in 1846. Randeen did 1750 meters while I figured out how to get back to our apartment.

We are almost pros using our Opal card on the transit system. A stop at the Metro super market on our way home ended our 24,000 step day.

Happy birthday from "down under" to my brother, Mike.

Tomorrow we hope to head to Manly Beach.
